How to take care of your Silver Jewellery
- Keep your jewellery away from chemicals, heating vents and sunlight.
- Sheild your jewellery from scratches, blows and extreme temperatures.
- Store each piece of jewellery individually to guard it against scrathing each others.
- Refrain from wearing jewellery in swimming pools, hot tubs, baths and during household or other exhausting activities.
- Do not expose your jewellery to perspiration, salt-water, chlorine, soap, perfume, makeup, hairspray and other personal hygiene products.
- After each wearing, gently wipe your jewellery with a soft 100% cotton cloth.
- Store beaded necklaces strung on silk thread in an unwrinkled/flat condition as silk stretches over time.
- From time to time, clean your jewellery with silver/gold cleaners and when in doubt, do not use chemical cleaners.
- Refrain from cleaning gemstones like pearls, lapis lazuli, malachites, opals, corals and turquoise with commercially available cleaners.
- Use a jewellery polishing cloth to restore its soft glow and ensure you do not press hard on plated jewellery as it can damage the surface.
- For a homestyle alternative of cleaning your jewellery, use lukewarm water and a tiny amount of mild wash liquid.
- Store your jewellery in a resealable plastic bag with anti-tarnish paper to avoid tarnishing. However, pearls and opals should be stored in a fabric bag as they need breathing space.
